Job Summary:
The close legal partner of the company will also be the Corporate Counsel who will advise the company on compliance and regulatory issues, corporate governance and contracts. The work will be connected with working with legal risks, negotiating deals, and assisting the business to fulfill its strategic objectives without violating the corresponding laws and regulations. The candidate must be of good business acumen and must be able to balance business and legal consideration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Corporate and commercial law and regulatory advice and support.
- Preparation, reviewing, and discussion of a broad scope of business contracts such as vendor and client contracts, NDA, and partnering documents.
- Mergers and acquisitions and the structuring of companies.
- Make sure that the corporate, labor, intellectual property and data protection laws are followed.
- Consult outside counsel and regulatory authorities where appropriate.
- Outline the possible legal risks and brainstorm on ways of reducing them.
- These include policy formulation, risk management and decision making that support management.
- Conduct law training and law awareness on in-house teams.
- Ensure that you are well abreast with all the relevant laws, regulations and industry practice.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelors/ Masters Degree in law (LLB/ LLM).
- At least 5-10 years of experience in corporate/ commercial law.
- Experience problems in matters of contract management, compliance, and legal advice.
- Good bargaining and writing abilities.
- Good interpersonal ability and communication.
- Capability to work alone and in a team in a fast paced setup.
- Lack of low moral principles, inability to be honest and pay attention to details.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in a law firm or a business law department of a corporation before that.
- International contract exposure, international transactions, or regulatory exposure.
- Data protection, Intellectual property and employment law.
